A Conversation Between Me and Hubby About A School Form We Had To Fill Out For Our Daughter

• Me: Why did you circle "Pacific Islander"?
• Franklin: Because that's what she is. That's what I am. Pacific Islander.
• Me: No. You're not. Filipinos are not Pacific Islanders. Ya'll are Asians. *Circles Asians.
• Franklin: No we're not. We're Pacific Islanders.
• Me: Someone failed Geography.
• Franklin: YOU failed Geography. We're Pacific Islanders.
• Me: -_____- Just because The Philippines touches the Pacific Ocean, it doesn't make it's inhabitants 'Pacific Islanders'. If that were the case, then the Japanese and Taiwanese would be considered Pacific Islanders and not Asian.
• Franklin: Japanese. Taiwanese. Look at these dirty knees..... I've always wanted to use that in a sentence.
